Abstract:The most important matter in this thesis is speaker’s focus and consciousness in every moment of verbalizing a story. For exploring this matter different subjects such as hesitation (phonetics), word selection (semantics), interaction (psychology), evaluation (culture) and motion verbs (cognitive) were studied. The main goal is to study the verbalization of non-verbal narratives. Forty women and forty girls were attended in this research. They were asked to verbalize a nonverbal six-minute film. Based on the results, speed of speech and the power of analyzing the information in women are higher than girls; statistically there is a significant relationship between word selection and age; focus on interaction is different for the two groups; there is also a statistically significant relationship between the kind of evaluation and age; and also there is a significant relationship between Self-contained Motion verbs and age. Altogether, we may say there is no identical classification of center of focus for the same experiment. There are even different classifications for the same speaker in different times

21   Link   Canadian GPA
Academic grading in Canada varies by province, level of education (e.g., high school or university), institution (e.g., Queen's), and faculty. The following are commonly used conversions from percentage grades to letter grades, however, this is not necessarily meaningful, since there is not a uniform scheme for assigning percentage grades either. A grade A would be 80–100% a B would be 70–79%.

The Iranian University Entrance Exam also known as the Concours (from the French; Konkoor, Konkour, and Konkur are transliterations of the Persian) is a standardized test used as one of the means to gain admission to higher education in Iran. Generally, to get Ph.D. in non-medical majors, there are 3 exams, all of them called Concour. In recent years there was parliament bill to gradually eliminate this entrance exam to enter universities in Iran.

24   Link   Corpus linguistics
Corpus linguistics is the study of language as expressed in corpora (samples) of "real world" text. The text-corpus method is a digestive approach that derives a set of abstract rules that govern a natural language from texts in that language, and explores how that language relates to other languages. Originally derived manually, corpora now are automatically derived from source texts. Corpus linguistics proposes that reliable language analysis is more feasible with corpora collected in the field in its natural context ("realia"), and with minimal experimental-interference.

The Cognitive Recovery Lab, directed by Dr. Peter Turkeltaub, is a research laboratory in the Center for Brain Plasticity and Recovery and the Department of Neurology at Georgetown University Medical Center and the MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital.

Our research aims to improve the lives of people with cognitive and language difficulties by expanding our understanding of:

How the brain performs language and cognitive functions,
How these brain systems change in the face of injury or dysfunction, and
How we can improve recovery.
